Tanya Wood

Tanya began her career in senior living after a successful career in magazine publishing. She felt she didn’t want to always be in the “books”; she enjoyed working with people much more than just sitting behind a desk. Tanya wanted to work in an industry where she felt like she could “make a difference” in someone’s life. Tanya says it was a blessing when her new career began in the senior industry because it wasn’t long after that her father had a stroke and their family was faced with all kinds of questions. In her present position, she can most definitely relate to the family members as well as the residents.

Proper training enhances employees' understanding of residents' physical, emotional, and cognitive needs, fostering a safe and compassionate environment.

"I checked out a few places and Morada Meadow Lakes stood out simply because it didn't feel or smell like a nursing home. It's more of a college dorm with walkers. The staff and other residents are great and I've gotten to know many of them very well. My mom has been there nine months now and she was a little apprehensive at first but now gets up, dresses, takes her meds, and heads down the hall for breakfast. Most days she doesn't come back to her apartment until after dinner in the evening. She has a core group of friends and they all meet in the lobby for fun and games and she has occasionally complained that her stomach hurts from laughing so much. With her Alzheimer's, she can't remember their names but they have become family. We both enjoy the food and she gets plenty to eat. "

"My family moved our mom into Morada Meadow Lakes, following on the heels of some friends of hers who also moved there from the same assisted living facility. Everything about Morada was superior! What impressed us the most was how everyone at Morada, residents AND staff, seemed to be so much happier than at either of Mom's last two residences.
